ECF Welcomes Two New Directors

October 10, 2023, New York, NY – The Board of Directors of the Episcopal Church Foundation (ECF) recently elected two new board members: Julie Gehm from Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Judy Godfrey from Abilene, Texas.

“We are so pleased to welcome Julie and Judy to the ECF team,” remarked Donald V. Romanik, President of ECF. “They both bring passion, energy, and a wealth of experience to the work of the board especially as we celebrate our 75th Anniversary in 2024. “

Julie Gehm has enjoyed a career of 40+ years in communications, journalism, marketing, and public relations, primarily in the non-profit sector. For 26 years she has led marketing and communications efforts for the operational and fundraising components of LifeScape, an organization serving people with disabilities. Previously she held the positions of Editor-SD Episcopal ChurchNews and Diocesan Convention Coordinator for the Diocese of South Dakota, as well as Public Information Specialist for the University of Sioux Falls. Julie earned a BA in Broadcast Journalism and History from South Dakota State University and an MBA, Healthcare Administration from the University of Sioux Falls. She worships at Calvary Cathedral, Sioux Falls, having served as senior warden, junior warden, and vestry member.

Judy Godfrey is an accredited art appraiser and retired museum director, having served as President and CEO of The Grace Museum and Museum Exhibit Designer for the Hendrick Home for Children, both in Abilene, Texas. She is currently the President of Judith Godfrey Associates, LLC. Judy earned an MA in Liberal Arts, Art History, and Humanities from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. Judy worships at Church of the Heavenly Rest where she served as a vestry member and senior warden. She is active in many aspects of parish life including the Youth and Children’s Education Program, food pantry outreach, and other projects.

ECF’s Board of Directors will convene in New York on November 9-11, 2023, and focus on discerning a strategic direction for the organization as it continues to serve, support, and transform Episcopal faith communities.
