Devon Anderson (2007) will be developing leaders for the Organizing for Mission Team in the Diocese of Spokane in January 2011. The Diocese of Spokane is partnering with ECF and others in a campaign to engage Episcopalians in ending global hunger and poverty.

Claude Barbre (1995) received the Margaret Morgan Lawrence Award from the Harlem Family Institute (HFI) for his many years of outstanding service to HFI and to children and families in Harlem. Claude served as executive director of HFI for twelve years.

Thomas Breidenthal (1983) delivered the Dubose Lectures at the School of Theology at Sewanee: University of the South on October 28-29.

William Countryman (1973) spoke at the November 3-5 Conference for the Society for Catholic Priests (SCP) which supports men and women within the Anglican Communion in their priestly spirituality and Catholic Evangelism. The conference theme was Being Renewed: A Conference for Anglicans of a Generous Catholic Disposition and was held at Pallotti College in Australia.

Ellen Davis (1984) was honored as Duke Divinity’s University Scholar/Teacher of the Year Award on September 30 at Duke’s 2010 Founder’s Day Convocation.

Ian Douglas and Devon Anderson (1983 and 2007) co-wrote “Now is the time for prophetic action on MDGs” which appeared in the Episcopal News Service on September 22. This article was in response to the September U.N. Summit on the Millennium Development Goals.

Joe Duggan (2008) successfully defended his dissertation on October 19, 2010 at the University of Manchester in England. Joe’s focus is on post-colonial theology.

Leander Harding (1986) joined the faculty of Trinity School for Ministry where he teaches Pastoral Theology and serves as the dean of seminary advancement. His new book In the Breaking of the Bread: A Users Guide to the Service of Communion in the Anglican Tradition has just been released.

Robert Hughes (1972) is one of six authors who have been placed on the shortlist for the Archbishop of Canterbury's 2011 Michael Ramsey Prize. His book, Beloved Dust, recently won the Poullart Libermann Award.

Emmett Jarrett (1976) was an Episcopal priest, advocate for the homeless and peace activist. He died on October 9, 2010.

Cynthia Kittredge (1990) headed the Anglican Association of Biblical Scholars meeting on November 19. In March 21-24, 2011, Cynthia will serve as a keynote speaker at the 2011 National Episcopal Preaching Conference. Other keynoters include Richard Lischer, Amy-Jill Levine and Marcus Borg.

Robert MacSwain (2004) is now Assistant Professor of Theology and Christian Ethics at the School of Theology of the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee. He received his Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, in June 2010. Later in the autumn he published The Cambridge Companion to C. S. Lewis, a volume in the Cambridge Companions to Religion Series, which he co-edited with the Rev. Dr. Michael Ward, Chaplain of St. Peter’s College, University of Oxford.

Lucinda Mosher (1999) was the keynote speaker for a conference on “G20 Dialogue Among Civilizations, Cultures, and Religions”, held in Iksan, Korea. Her topic was: “The Interfaith Movement: History, Obstacles, Opportunities”. The previous day, she had been the moderator for a panel discussion during a Women Leaders Summit, in Seoul. These meetings were part of a weeklong program convened by Won-Buddhism’s Headquarters and UN Office to focus on “moral politics” in light of the G20 Summit, for which Seoul was host.

Titus Presler (1988) served as guest lecturer for the Henry H. and Marion A. Presler lectureship on Christian World Mission held October 21, 2010 at Louisville Presbyterian Seminary.

Susan Richardson (2008) began a new call as rector of Grace-St. Paul’s in Mercerville, New Jersey on Nov 1. In addition, Susan is currently completing a guide called Child by Child, focusing on integrating children and teens with learning differences into faith communities, which will be published by Morehouse Press in Fall 2011.

Philip Turner spoke with NPR for a December 23rd story called "Shepherds, Wise Men, Animals: Were They All There?" In it Turner notes "The detail about the death of Jesus is great. The detail about the birth of Jesus is minuscule."

Christopher Wells and Leander Harding (2005 and 1986) wrote the lead article and postscript for an online symposium, “Teaching Jesus and the Unity of the Church,” in The Living Church in December 2010. Ian Douglas and Joseph Britton were two of several respondents to their “call for a renewed ministry of reconciliation in Christ (2 Cor.5:17,18).”
