LETTERS

Below please write the names of the people who will provide letters in support of your application. Two letters of reference are required; you may submit up to three letters of recommendation of your choosing. You have the option to attach the letters in the online application, mail all your letters together in one packet, or have your letters mailed by those who are writing them. Do not submit letters by email. All letters must be received or postmarked by March 15th, 2019.

LETTERS OF REFERENCE

A letter of reference from your academic advisor or equivalent and diocesan bishop in the diocese where you are canonically resident are required. Please contact us if you have any questions about these letters.

Personal Statement
Attach a personal statement of no more than 1,000 words. Include a brief history of how you have developed as faith leader, your ministry, when and where you joined the Episcopal Church (or an Anglican Communion Church), and how this journey has led you to develop your proposed course of study.

Essay
The essay for candidates applying for an academic track should explain the proposed course of study with a maximum length of 1,200 words. Points of discussion should include the following:

  • A synopsis of the course of study
  • Interest and commitment to forming the next generation of lay and clergy scholars and ministry leaders
  • The demonstrated need for this particular area of study
  • The proposed methodology for sharing the knowledge, experience, or best practices gained in this study with people at the community, grassroots or congregational level
  • Tangible ways in which the applicant's field of academic study will benefit future students and/or the wider Church

ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPTS

Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for application review, but if the applicant is offered a Fellowship, the applicant will be required to submit official transcripts to verify the accuracy of the submitted transcripts.
