ECF Fellows Featured on Faith & Leadership for Their Ministry The Work+Shop
ECF Fellows the Rev. Dr. John G. Lewis (named ECF Fellow in 1980) and the Rev. Dr. Jane L. Patterson (named ECF Fellow in 1994) were featured last week on the website Faith & Leadership for their spiritual discernment ministry The Work+Shop. The Work+Shop is a San Antonio based minstry for strengthening Christian communities through daily discernment. The project takes its name from the Benedictine Rule which compares the monastery to a workshop, where members of the community work with the "tools of the spiritual craft" in the daily work of crafting faithful lives. The Work+Shop seeks to address the challenge of how we take what hear in churh out into the world? The Work+Shop was founded in 2001 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in San Antonio, Texas. In 2008 ECF's Vestry Papers devoted the November/December 2008 issue to the work of The Work+Shop. You can read the article on Faith & Leadership here and view a video about The Work+Shop below:
