7 de julio de 2011, Nueva York, NY – La Fundación de la Iglesia Episcopal (The Episcopal Church Foundation, ECF) se complace en anunciar el lanzamiento de Liderazgo Latino, una iniciativa que pone de relieve las mejores prácticas de la Iglesia Episcopal Hispanohablante. En asociación con la Oficina de Ministerios Latinos de la Iglesia Episcopal, ECF Vital Practices ahora contará con artículos, comentarios en blogs y recursos creados por líderes hispanohablantes para un público hispanohablante.

El presidente de la ECF, Donald Romanik, expresó que “En un momento en que el número de congregaciones latinas en la Iglesia Episcopal está en plena expansión, sabemos que necesitaremos realizar nuestra labor tanto en inglés como en español. Sin embargo, lo que me llena de entusiasmo sobre el Liderazgo Latino es que no nos limitaremos a traducir materiales del inglés al español. Nuestra meta es que ECF Vital Practices sea un lugar en el que los líderes hispanohablantes compartan su sabiduría y sus mejores prácticas directamente con otros miembros de la Iglesia Episcopal Hispanohablante”.

El Rev. Canónigo Anthony Guillén, misionero del Ministerio Latino/Hispano de la Iglesia Episcopal añadió, “Me complace muchísimo asociarme a la EFC en esta nueva iniciativa. Los líderes de las congregaciones episcopales hispanohablantes están enfrentando un desafío sin precedentes con muy pocos recursos, así que me llena de entusiasmo poder crear nuevos medios para poner de relieve las mejores prácticas de liderazgo de estas comunidades”.

En conformidad con el rápido crecimiento de la población latina en Estados Unidos, el segmento latino es uno de los segmentos de la Iglesia Episcopal de mayor crecimiento. Liderazgo Latino se concentrará en cuatro áreas que han sido identificadas como de especial interés para las congregaciones hispanohablantes: modelos de liderazgo compartido en congregaciones con comunidades hispano y anglohablantes, ministerio intergeneracional y mejores prácticas de mayordomía. ECF ha contratado a Laura Eastment para que se desempeñe como correctora de textos de los materiales redactados en español que aparezcan en ECF Vital Practices.

Liderazgo Latino: Best Practices from the Spanish-Speaking Episcopal Church

July 7, 2011, New York, NY -- The Episcopal Church Foundation (ECF) is pleased to announce the launch of Liderazgo Latino, an initiative highlighting the best practices of the Spanish-speaking Episcopal Church. In partnership with The Episcopal Church's Office of Latino Ministries, ECF Vital Practices will now feature articles, blog posts and resources created by Spanish-speaking leaders for a Spanish-speaking audience.

ECF President Donald Romanik stated “As the number of Latino congregations in the Episcopal Church grows, we know that we will need to carry out our work in both English and Spanish. What excites me about Liderazgo Latino, however, is that we are going beyond translating materials from English into Spanish. Our goal is for ECF Vital Practices to be a place where Spanish-speaking leaders share their wisdom and best practices directly with other members of the Spanish-speaking Episcopal Church.”

The Rev. Canon Anthony Guillén, Missioner for Latino/Hispanic Ministry for The Episcopal Church added, “I’m thrilled to be partnering with ECF on this new initiative. Leaders of Spanish-speaking Episcopal congregations are facing unique challenges with very few resources and so it’s exciting to be able to create new avenues for highlighting the best leadership practices of these communities.”

In keeping with the rapid growth of the Latino population in the U.S., Latinos presently constitute one of the fastest growing segments of The Episcopal Church. Liderazgo Latino will focus on four areas that have been identified as being of particular concern to Spanish-speaking congregations: models for shared leadership in congregations that have Spanish and English speaking communities, intergenerational ministry, and best practices in stewardship. ECF has hired Laura Eastment to serve as copy editor for the Spanish-language materials appearing on ECF Vital Practices.
