ECF’s Episcopal Academy is the hidden gem of the Episcopal Church. These presentations have been really valuable to me and fellow members of the vestry at my parish. I’d just become senior warden when I attended an ECF workshop last fall. It was sponsored by the Diocese of Nebraska, so we got to meet vestry members from parishes throughout the state. Being able to trade war stories with them was great. The best presentation was about the role of a vestry. I’d known that the legal and fiduciary duties of a vestry existed, but I’d never had the chance to think about them in depth. After the ECF event, I went back and talked to my rector about how we could institute a vestry training program at Holy Trinity. It’s been a terrific addition to our life as a vestry, and we couldn’t have done it without the Episcopal Academy from ECF.
