ECF Seminary Summit: Lilly Endowment National Initiative

June 6, 2018

As part of the Episcopal Church Foundation’s Lilly Endowment National Initiative to address the economic challenges facing pastoral leaders, ECF will host a full day event for deans/presidents and senior academic officers of the ten Episcopal seminaries on “The Role of Seminaries in Addressing the Economic Challenges Facing Pastoral Leaders.” The event will focus on exchanging ideas on curriculum guidelines and promoting tools for faculty to help future pastoral leaders think more deeply about the role of money, generosity, and stewardship in relation to their own lives, their parishes, and their surrounding communities. It is ECF’s hope that this event will inspire the development of an improved theological focus on the role of money in religion and society in the curriculum of seminaries and formation institutions of the Episcopal Church and to build an inter-institutional approach to comprehensively and collaboratively addressing economic issues for seminaries.

The event will be held June 6- 8, 2018 at The Washington National Cathedral, Washington, D.C.
